Harnoor Samra
Harnoordeep Samra is a first-year medical student and former Research Assistant in Dr. Hema Ganapathy-Coleman’s lab. He contributed to the SAIL-GTA project, which explores the everyday lives of first- and second-generation Indian immigrants in the Peel region, focusing on faith, food, prejudice, and romantic relationships. Harnoordeep’s work involved participant recruitment, data collection, and coding qualitative interviews to identify key themes. He holds a double major in Biology for Health Sciences and Psychology from the University of Toronto Mississauga, where he developed strong skills in research methodology and cross-cultural analysis. Harnoordeep is passionate about applying cultural awareness in healthcare and aspires to become a physician who serves diverse communities with understanding and respect.
