Purushoth Puvanendran
Purushoth is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto Mississauga with an Honours Bachelor of Science. He majored in Biology for Health Science and minored in both Psychology and Philosophy. As someone with a Sri Lankan background and experience working in a psychology clinic for the past two years, he was deeply drawn to the lab’s focus on South Asian cultural psychology. He is currently involved in the “Study of South Asian Indian and Pakistani Immigrant Lives in the Greater Toronto Area” project, where he helping to build a codebook from qualitative analysis of interview transcripts. He hopes to develop a deeper cultural sensitivity and gain the skills needed to study diverse populations—insights he plans to carry forward into future work in cognitive research and healthcare.
