Tarjni Pandya
Tarjni joined the SAIL Lab in 2023 as a Research Opportunity Program (ROP) student, contributing to the “Living and Belongingness of South Asian Diaspora in the GTA” Photovoice project. Through this initiative, she received formal training in Photovoice methods, later co-facilitating workshops that guided participants through photo-based storytelling and analysis. She played an integral role in organizing sessions, supporting data collection, and conducting collaborative coding of the visual data to derive core themes and narratives. After her ROP term, she continued as a volunteer, deepening her engagement with the project and the lab's broader goals. She has recently graduated from the University of Toronto with an honors BSc in Biology and Psychology. Her research interests lie at the intersection of identity, belonging, and mental health. She plans to contribute to mental health equity efforts in India before pursuing graduate studies in cognitive psychology.
