Anavi Ramakrishnan

Anavi Ramakrishnan is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, where she completed a double major in Economics and Psychology. As a Research Assistant in Dr. Ganapathy-Coleman's lab, she contributed to the SAIL-GTA project by assisting with literature reviews, qualitative coding, and data analysis focused on intercultural relationships among South Asian/Indian/Pakistani immigrants in the Greater Toronto Area. She also helped organize and facilitate participant workshops using the Photovoice technique, supporting community members in visually documenting and reflecting on their lived experiences. Anavi's research interests lie in cultural psychology, social integration, and the intersection between cultural identity and family dynamics. Her work in the lab strengthened her interest in understanding how migration experiences influence identity formation and relationship patterns in multicultural societies. In addition to her research experience, Anavi brings skills in statistical analysis, cross-cultural communication, and project coordination. She aims to pursue a career in research and data-driven consulting, with a focus on applying psychological insights to address cultural and social issues in diverse communities.
